Do you realize that 40 million women DID NOT vote during the last election!!! Do you know how many millions of young people did not vote? Do you know how many millions of African American citizens did not vote? Do you know how many millions of Hispanic citizens did not vote? Do you know how many millions of Native Americans did not vote? Do you know how many millions of Asian American citizens did not vote? Do you know how many millions of American citizens of all walks of life did not exercise their privilege to vote last election? Add the millions of votes up that were not counted and notice the difference we can make as individuals - when we collectively decide to exercise our privilege to VOTE!

Do you know why the politicians don't address your concerns? It's because.. you.. do.. not.. exercise.. your.. privilege.. to vote! If you don't vote, you are not heard! Be heard, exercise your voice and VOTE!!!!

Do you know it is YOUR PRIVILEGE to vote. Do you realize that men and women in our past and present have sacrificed their time and their very own lives so that you can partake in the privilege of voting?

Do you realize just a few decades ago, women did not have the right to vote? And neither did African Americans. NOW, every citizen, as young as 18 years old in this country have THE PRIVILEGE TO VOTE!

More and more people each election are not voting as our country journeys into the new and exciting century of time. Voting is what makes OUR government of the people, by the people, and for the people. When we choose not to exercise our privilege to vote, we are allowing the few to make decisions for the many. Our Political Leaders make decisions for our country based on the voices from the counted votes! They do not hear the voices of the ones who sit at home and complain about how life is unfair.

Our country is in the midst of redefining what role we play in the world today and who we are as a generation of people in the land of opportunity.....Every four years we have the privilege to direct or redirect our focus to what the citizens of this land want and desire! Each election creates an opportunity for change .... Will it be a change for the few or a change for our whole country - America The Beautiful? It's entirely up to YOU as an individual!!!

One step closer

Yesterday I went to a doc and was given some meds. I do believe this doc is on the right track. Today, I have woken up with a tight bloated stomach once again. When will it stop. When will my stomach go back to normal....I am getting werry. BUT I will survive and get over this .... I will!!! Today President Bush and Senator Kerry have their first debate in Miami, Florida. I really wonder if the floridians really care about the two men debating at this point, since they are trying to get their lives together after 4 consecutive hurricanes hit their homeland with just weeks of each other. What are the real issues anyway? The war in Irag? War on Terror? The economy at home? Health care? Education? Safety here right at home? This shall be interesting.

Did you ever think....

As I was driving home from a doctor's appointment today, I passed by a Kennesaw National Battlefield Park Grounds. All of a sudden I thought about all the men and women who sacrificed their lives. THOUSANDS of young men, boys, and woman alike sacrificed their lives....The Civil War was not fought soley by "Whiteman" but by multi-colors. The Civil War was not black against white, red against yellow. It was fought over the differences of what the North thought to be in the best interest of the USA and what The South thought to be in the best interest of the USA. Then, I was thinking of how SOME African Americans have such a bitter hatred for SOME white people. There were thousands of white people who fought in the Civil War to help further the cause of abolishing Slavery among other issues. But one would think, from some African Americans, that ALL white people thought "negros" should be slaves, or even all white people had slaves. This is just not true. Shall we revisit exactly what the situation was during the 1800's? Is it not important to know the WHOLE history of the Civil War situation?

In any race, religion, community, or country . . . there are "bad" people. People who take advantage of others. People who are cruel to others. Should we base our views soley on those few who are distorted in their thinking, to represent an entire race, religion, community, or country? All I say is, think about it, once or maybe, twice. I have witnessed people from all walks of life and from the corners that stretch across this beautiful earth; to be kind, caring, loving, giving, thoughtful, honest, and understanding. As I have also witnessed the opposite characteristics in some people. But, as I reflect, I recall far more loving, caring, understanding, and giving people from all walks of life, rather than the other kind of people mentioned above.

I believe it is our purpose on this earth to learn to love our fellow human beings, and be loved. How can we do so, if we are ready to judge and be narrow minded? One of the challenges during our journey here on this earth is to love one another. That does not mean to accept ignorant and cruel people. There is a difference.

Never Ever Give Up!

Think about it. Think of all the comforts we enjoy today in our lives. Think of the fresh cold milk in your refrigerator right now. Although developed by a team of dedicated people, it took one person to think, dream, and act upon the need to keep drinks cold other than in a rippling cool stream of water, or the chilly depths of a lake. One person, among a team of many people gifted us the comfort of a cold glass of milk and a myriad of other comforts we so enjoy today.

It took ONE person to step out of their comfort zone.

Think about electricity - from fire to gas to electric lights. It took one person to dream, explore, and discover the creature comforts of modern light. Think about all of our current comforts we so much enjoy. I am grateful for the thinkers, the dreamers, the ones who stepped forward to make an everlasting postive difference in the world of today and all our tomorrows.

The glass, The refrigerator, The light bulb. At one time in human history, those items were never even a thought or a twinkling of an idea in a human's mind. But someone had to dream it, think it, and act upon their inspiration.

Never give up. Never stop dreaming. Never stop thinking. Never give up. Always throw that pebble in the water and watch the ripple grow. You may have to redirect your focus, your dreams, or your thoughts, BUT never give up!

Living, doing, saying, eating, breathing, looking, listening, loving, caring, believing, giving, hearing, reading, experiencing, creating, delivering, laughing, crying, developing, sleeping, exercising, dieting, budgeting, explaining, sharing, exploring, discovering, inventing, praying, learning, comprehending, thinking, being? . . . .

Are we? Are you? Am I? Should we? Should you? Should I? Will we? Will you? Will I? Do we? Do you? Do I? When will we? When will you? When will I? It only takes ONE pebble to cause a rip ple effect that goes on for an eternity. Are we Are you Am I willing to take the chance? To take the challenge? To step out of the box of comfort? To cause a rip ple for the right cause? Take the first tiny step....go on .... do it, I dare you! I dare myself! Just do it! Throw in that pebble and see what happens. What can we learn? What can you learn? What can I learn?

Hmmmm What do you Think?

This past weekend I just saw Forgotten. What a great movie. Something to ponder, something to wonder about, something to perhaps to consider. Never in my life have I ever been phyiscally moved by the surprise effects in a movie. There were several occassions where I felt my body literally tingle from toe to bottom to head....just from seeing something on a movie screen I didn't expect to see. What a moving movie in more than one way. A must go see Movie.

Rainy Day

It rained most of the day. Again, no work today. And no word to when I will return. My condition is getting worse and with more symptons. I am trying to keep positive and look at this as an opportunity to learn about the world around me and look deep inside myself to what I can do as I am homebound. I have found so many good links on the internet to help with work and help with investigating my situation.

Just thinking

Another Sunday Night. One of many that pass me by....alone. Sunday nights alone for the past 15 years. That's alot of Sundays alone. Before my mother passed away two years ago, ( I never realized this until I reached for the phone to call her one Sunday and Many Sundays after) but no matter how far the distance, I would call her on Sundays to see how she was doing and to share what was or was not happening in my life. A Sunday get together. But no more. I spent my day straightening out things at home, testing my camera, trying to figure out what I can and cannot eat. Watched the weather to see where Hurricane Jeanne will blow on through. Watched a couple of TV programs, responded to a few emails. Hoping I will feel well enough to go back to work in the Morning. This blog thing is a good way to journal. I much rather type each night than writte on paper. I have just begun to explore the possibilites of networking using the blog system.

If you are an independent Film maker and would like to share the ins and outs of producing and raising money to produce your film - please feel free to respond to opened listening ears. My brother and I are producing an original Movie Short based on a Love Ballad I wrote. Until then,
